Lease Finance Vendor - The Vendor Perspective


A well established method utilised by vendors across many markets to assist and encourage their customers to acquire capital equipment; the two main variations being Finance Lease and Operating Lease.

Operating Lease


A rental contract typically over two to five years whereby, usually the vendor, takes a residual value position on the leased goods thereby reducing the rental payable by the customer and allowing the customer to account for the lease as an off-balance sheet item.

Finance Lease


A rental contract typically over two to five years whereby the customer discharges the full value of the equipment over the lease term and may have reversionary rights to the equipment once the agreement ends.
